Education: BA, MA, and soon to be DMA

A few of my books

It’s a funny story, really. After I got out of prison, I needed a car. I decided to apply for a student loanĀ in order to get a truck. I took a few classes at San Jacinto Community College in my hometown of Pasadena, Texas. I then went on to finish my undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of the Arts in Music from the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston. My friends and family encouraged me to continue and pursue a Master’s. I graduated with a M.A. in 2010. I got married, and my wife and others said “why not go for the whole shebang?”. So here I am, at the tail end of my DMA.

Look what I can do!

If being able to turn my favorite Lil Troy and UGK rap songs into jazz covers isn’t the best return on investment of my student loans… I don’t know what is.
